Our Engineers Are Accredited!     (09/09/2009)
by Richard Walker

Having workshop equipment regularly inspected by a competent person to comply with health and safety legislation is of course an obligation that service managers have had to meet for many years but we are also finding there is an increased demand for servicing due to the effects of the current economic climate.

As garages are competing for every scrap of business they can get it is important that their equipment is always available and does not let them down.  As a result our service department has noticed an increased demand for inspection, servicing, calibration and repair services from a competent company.

We are such a company and now we can prove it!

This year the Garage Equipment Association (GEA) introduced a lift engineer accreditation scheme and we are pleased to announce that all of our engineers have passed the exams and are now accredited.  This means that as well as the many years of practical experience they all hold, they also have written proof, backed by a professional trade association, that they have the knowledge and expertise to competently service vehicle lifts.   This, coupled with the fact that we have SIRA accredited engineers for the calibration of emissions equipment, and calibration of brake testers and headlamp testers means that we are well-equipped to handle all equipment servicing and calibration needs.

If you are looking for one company to handle all your MOT equipment calibrations, lift servicing, air compressor servicing, general equipment inspections, and LEV certification, then we may be the solution you have been looking for.  We would be delighted to survey your workshop and offer a quotation for the above services.   If you are interested please do not hesitate to call or email us.

NB.  To obtain lift service accreditation our engineers had to undertake a rigorous exam at GEA headquarters to test their knowledge of LOLER regulations and British Standards regulations in relation to the inspection and servicing of vehicle lifts.  They are in the minority, as many companies are yet to submit engineers for accreditation, other companies may never do so due to the cost involved and lack of expertise, and other companies have submitted engineers that have failed.  We see this as a testament to the quality of our engineering team and our commitment to our service offering, and feel that this should give you extra piece of mind if you choose us for your equipment servicing.
