Nearly 10 million tyres being used by motorists in the UK this year will be dangerous and illegal, a new survey suggests. The results of a survey of 810 tyre retail outlets across England, Scotland and Wales have revealed that of nearly 102,000 tyres examined between February and May of this year, an average of 27.1% of those changed had a tread depth below the 1.6mm legal limit at the time they were replaced.
Also this week, research into electronic vehicle health checks has revealed franchised dealers are missing opportunities to sell service and parts, giving independents further opportunities.
