We were delighted to have been chosen to help Blackhaws Garages' Managing Director, William Blackshaw, design the workshop for his new Mitsubishi dealership in Morpeth. Blackshaws, who have operated a family run business in Alnwick for over 90 years, had been eyeing up business opportunities in Morpeth for some time so when the right property became available they were ready to move ahead with their exciting project.
William first contacted us between Christmas 2014 and New Years Day 2015 to ask us to visit the site with him. We did so and listened to his ideas for developing a smart new dealership on Coopies Lane industrial estate. As the property was a disused former tyre fitting depot which had previously had equipment, including an MOT bay, installed we advised on the best way to rearrange the layout to suit a mechanical dealer specification workshop. There was no equipment in the shop but there were recesses for an MOT bay so we made sure we found equipment that would fit without too many modifications. This included choosing a Technique compact Class IV ALT 4 post lift. As usual, the workshop also boasts the latest in brake testing, emissions testing and wheel servicing equipment from Technique's T8000 range, and a quantity of Rotary vehicle lifts.
This is a prime example of a customer making full use of our CAD design service and project management facilities to help turn his ideas into reality. On completion of the project William Blackshaw stated:
"Gott were excellent in helping set up our new Morpeth workshop, they treated it as though it was their own, giving ideas and options along the way, taking complete ownership, it made the whole project very easy."
Gott's Managing Director Ian Gott said it was a pleasure to work with William and his team and he appreciates the business.
