What a busy week it has been! It all started last weekend when I presented an award we sponsored at one of our clients' national staff awards ceremonies. It was a very glitzy and glamorous affair with the evening being hosted by Bill Turnbull who entertained the audience with his amusing tales from working on BBC Breakfast and competing in Strictly Come Dancing. Main entertainment for the night was Queen tribute act Killer Queen who got everybody up dancing and playing air guitar as they belted out the rock band's classic numbers.
Monday morning saw us straight into the thick of things as our engineers hit the road to carry out lift installs and planned preventative maintenance visits which have kept us busy this week.
Tuesday saw many of the team in the office for an essential health and safety toolbox talk delivered by our senior engineer. This is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring everybody understands their role in helping us to work safely.
On Wednesday I was called to an important briefing with an office of the MOD to talk about the future of tendering for military contracts and then moved on to discuss with other clients their specific requirements for new equipment. Devising a bespoke method of modifying an existing brake tester pit helped us secure an order for a replacement brake tester that will be able to be fitted with minimal downtime for the testing station.
The last couple of days of the week involved more lift installs, lift load tests and securing of orders for new equipment whilst chasing up enquiries from the Automechanika show for our DEA range of fitted workshop furniture and cabinetry.
You certainly experience a lot of variety when working in the Garage Equipment industry.
